Another audience with Bach enjoyed an eclectic evening of musical delights

To celebrate 30th Anniversary of the founding of Safehaven International, on the 25th January, 2012, we took to the beautiful Düsseldorf Tonhalle, where students of the Robert Schumann Hochschule performed a medley of musical delights.
The concert began with a Trombone Fanfare by Nathan Farrell, performed by Daniel Brozozowsi, Michael Mayer, Onur Özgüner and Jens Eckel and then moved on to some wonderfully coordinated Marimba playing, with a Virtuoso performance of Polonaise No 2 by Franz List performed by Kim Sukyeon, a talented soloist of whom we shall no doubt hear more in the near future. The evening got into full flow with works by Dmitri Shostakovich, Henry Mancini, Nickolai Kapustin and Minoru Miki.
The percussionists Kevin Anderwaldt, Pascal Klaiber, Veith Kloeters, Rafael Sars and Johannes Wippermann played their part with such precision that theirs was a seminal experience as well as a treat for the ears.
In all the evening, which was rounded off in true German style at the famous Zum Schiffchen restaurant, was a fitting tribute to Safehaven’s longevity.
